Nine years ago we adopted Spanky from the shelter. We brought him in our house. He balked and wouldn't go past the kitchen. Dad tried to give him a bath and he screamed like he was hurt. His favorite place was to lay down on the garage floor. And he had to train Dad on taking him for daily walks. So enjoy your new dog and sometimes let him take the lead...
