A while back Huck told Troy he was ready to watch “Star Wars” and told me he was ready to read “Harry Potter,” something we’ve each been anticipating since learning I was pregnant. About a week after the movie viewing and three chapters into The Sorcerer’s Stone, Huck was scared to go into his room alone, begged to sleep with us, and became obsessed with his own death. He then announced that from now on we would only watch shows without killing or fighting in them.
Maybe we’ll wait till third grade to give Star Wars and Harry Potter another try.
(He did, however, choose to dress as R2D2 for a friend’s “Come as Your Favorite Character” birthday party, so all is not lost.)

Oh that’s funny and heartbreaking. He makes an adorable R2D2.
Noah has been so afraid of Voldemort since the age of 5 or 6. The latest movie was especially scary. I said (of course he’s 9), “Noah, you have to get past this! He’s not real! We’re going to the movie!” Talk about mother of the year.
Oh my gosh, heartbreaking, indeed. But: VERY creative costume-making!!
This is like my dream come true–what I wouldn’t have given for this outfit!! Too cool Huckaroo!
Hi Gregsy! With a piece of poster board, blue painter’s tape, some string, some foil, a black Sharpie, random toys and a colander, you too could have such a costume. Now get to work!
