Last night Huck told me that he and his long term kindergarten girlfriend were no longer together.  It seems she has found a new best friend and no longer pays much attention to Huck, so he has decided to move on.  He now is in love with a beautiful and smart girl I shall call C.   Apparently she calls Huck her husband, which he thinks is SO funny because they haven’t even had a fake wedding.  The whole thing has caused him to do a lot of ruminating on how it feels for a friend to leave you for another, again reminding me that this poor kid has to face the world!  Luckily he has a gameplan: the next time his ex ignores him he plans to tell her in a pretty indignant voice, “I am no longer your girlfriend.  Now I am C’s girlfriend.”

I’ve always thought Huck was either going to be VERY gay or VERY straight.  This is a little bit of both.
