During testing for the older students at Huck’s school this week, the kindergarten, first and second grade classes enjoyed three straight days of field trips. I joined them at the Bronx Zoo and MOMA, where the kids were treated like minor celebrities. Apparently there’s nothing more interesting to take pictures of than a bunch of New York City public schoolchildren at a fancy art museum (except maybe a Picasso). Supposedly today they had fun at the Museum of Natural History studying ocean life; I sat this one out. Making sure none of the 23 kids (plus ten extra second graders) get separated from the group at some of New York’s most crowded and popular spots is enough to make Mommy a little nervous. And while these trips have been all kinds of fun, Huck admits to being ready for a normal school day tomorrow. Until testing resumes next week …

I love that Huck’s normal life is what I have scrapbooked as my exciting adventures. I visited MOMA in 2000 and the Bronx Zoo in 1994. It is such a great way to grow up!
Looks so fun and educational! Love the class pic.
