The Winter of Waiting is over! Spring is in full bloom (as are the Schremmer Allergies), our movie’s going to the LA Film Festival, our play’s going to be in the New York International Fringe Festival, I get to read a piece I wrote in our neighborhood’s Above the Bridge reading series next month, Troy and I finally get to do a reading from our friend Ilyon Woo’s book THE GREAT DIVORCE (postponed due to a snow storm) next week, and our building’s elevators are both working today! The past couple of weeks I have spent a lot of time sitting at this here computer figuring out our very exciting travel plans for the summer while also pretending to be a theatre producer.
We’ve got money to raise, a stage manager to hire, a play to rewrite, insurance to purchase, Equity to deal with, rehearsals to schedule, and about 347 forms to fill out. Hopefully come August Troy and our friend Dusty Brown will be up on a stage performing “The Ballad of Rusty and Roy.”
Thankfully we get to take a break from all this grown-up stuff to play with that kid of ours. This last weekend we enjoyed Saturday at the Hall of Science and Mother’s Day at the Bronx Zoo. (Thank God for Family Memberships and borrowed cars.) I’m not sure Huck is aware that his mother’s brain is crammed too full of information these days, but I’m sure he’s noticed that I’ve stopped complaining of being bored.
Now if we could only find a new apartment …

Such exciting happenings at your house! I really wish I could have joined you for the zoo and museum…in shorts and flip flops. Looks like a blast! xoxo
Congrats on all the wonderfulness, Schremmers!! Exciting happenings, indeed!! (I like how Aunt Jeni typically comments before me, so I can riff off of her comments — because they’re so good and right-on!)
You guys are having way too much fun!! I’m SOOOOO excited for you.
Jeni, I have not worn my flip flops or my shorts yet. Still freezing in my book. lol
i thought we only had 346 forms to fill out. we’re never gonna get this done now!
Great pictures of a great family. I’d love to come see you guys on stage again, keep me posted.
Thanks, Shaunties. Is there some sort of award in this world for commenting on blogs? Is this on?
I have had cold toes many times this spring already Rosie. Oh us Hottman sisters and our need for flip flops to feel happy. Someone get us some therapy! Or some socks. Is anyone reading this??
