Huck’s a pretty logical child most of the time, but there is a fantasy world that occupies a part of his brain. For instance, he’s a Space Alien from another planet with his own language and he’s never too hot or too cold because he has a perfect temperature invisible bubble thing around him at all times. He also takes great pride in his photographic memory, his severe case of synesthesia (seeing letters and numbers as colors) and extreme double jointedness.
And while I do not believe any of these things are true, I play along. Sometimes I try to translate what he says (I’m half-Space Alien but this only gets me so far), other times I’m impressed by his made-up memories, often I ask him what color certain words are, and always I’m amazed by his creepy wrist trick. I’m pretty sure this imaginary Huck exists because his mom thinks it’s real, and I’m hoping that keeps him acting like a little kid for a while longer.

Ahhhh, what a great Mama and impressive that you are part alien as well. I heard a lot about that photographic memory in March and was very impressed by it. I love his imagination.
love this pic of the boy… what is goin’ on in there?
