Our summer 2011 visit to Kansas can best be summed up this way: really cute babies, really fun water parks, really hot weather, and lots of food.  In fact, early on I was complaining of being full and Huck announced, “This is why I want to live in Kansas.  MORE FOOD!  In New York you only give me one-quarters of the food I need.”  And it’s true: we really overeat when all the family gets a hold of us.  Here are some pictures from our first weekend in Salina with my parents and sweet niece Lily where we caught fireflies, played at the first water park (best lazy river ever), swam at the Y, picked vegetables in the garden, shopped at the mall, and enjoyed a tea party.  Before all that we stopped off at our dear friends the Holman-Heberts for a wonderful afternoon, and while driving from their home to my parents Huck woke up from a snooze, looked out the car window and said, “Wow!  So much space!”  Welcome to Kansas, son.

Ahhhh! Proof of when Huck and Lily got along! Also Kansas is where you wear bananas as a hat, right? Love that Mom had a tea party with the grandkids. xoxo

Oh my gosh, these photos are WONDERFUL! I found one that was my fave, then nope, there was another one that was my fave. Top 3: banana hat, Huck & Lily on the slip and slide – oh Troy on the slip and slide gets an honorable mention, and perhaps my favorite is Huck doing math on his vacation. Oh Huck!!!
