As is our tradition, we said goodbye to summer by spending Labor Day weekend in Virginia with Uncle Ronnie, Aunt Dottie and the whole Gaskins family for several days of relaxation and fun.  Huck jumped off the diving board into super deep water for the first time ever and considered going down the water slide three different times until his cautious nature got the better of him and decided to wait till next year.  There was apple picking, Costco sampling, school supplies buying, corn shucking, space ship fort playing, magic trick practicing, Thai food eating, book reading, back deck sitting, wine drinking, meditation giving, theatre going, optical illusion testing, origami paper folding, late night staying upping, and lots of smiling.  And while it’s never easy to leave Virginia, we’ve returned to New York ready to bring on the next.  First grade, here he comes!
