Troy, Chad and I got to attend the Woodstock Film Festival this last weekend and be a part of our movie’s east coast premiere! We left Huck in the hands of many friends (Shamie picked him up from school and gave him over to Charlie who drove him to Brian and Tiffany’s for a slumber party), and as we were taking him to school Friday morning he asked, “Which movie is it you’re going to be seeing again?” as if there are so many starring our family. I told him AN ORDINARY FAMILY and he exclaimed, “I love that one! Why can’t I go too?”
If we could spend our lives going to film festivals without Huck we would, and this one was extra sweet because a) we love Woodstock and kinda want to live there, b) our friends John, Shana, Ilyana, Thos, Joe and Harry joined us, c) a wonderful new friend named Liz put us up in her beautiful home for free, because that’s the kind of thing they do in Woodstock, and d) we knew Huck was having a great time with Kadin in NYC (except for that phone call right after the Q&A when he was feeling homesick and needed to hear my voice). We don’t know how many more film festivals we’ll get to attend, so it was really special for us to be at this one. Other than the insane rain (notice Troy’s emergency poncho he purchased at the local Rite Aid), it was pretty perfect.
And for all you folks asking about the movie, here’s the latest: we’ve got a DVD distribution deal and so sometime around March it will be available on Netflix and itunes. Over the next few months it will be seen at about a dozen film festivals, including Austin, Minneapolis, Bend, New Orleans, Napa Valley, D.C. and Calgary in Canada, and we have high hopes for a NYC premiere to coincide with the DVD release. More info to come!

Wow that looks like a delightful weekend indeed! What great friends to come to the festival and other great friends to hang out with Huck! Can’t wait to have my own DVD of the movie!!! xoxo
That poncho was a real life saver let me tell ya!
Oh what joy this brings me. What a wonderful time, indeed!
