One of my very favorite days of the year is Thanksgiving because of the ambiance of food cooking with the parade on in the background whilst lounging in my pajamas all morning drinking coffee and looking at magazines.  Back when my Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Dottie lived a quick train ride away in New Jersey we always spent Thanksgiving with them, and now that they’re in Virginia we sometimes do.  This year was a year to rent a car and drive the 5.5 hours (which is closer to seven this time of year) south to their beautiful home for several days and nights of easy livin’.   Along with the usual good food, drink and laughter, this time we also enjoyed warm sunny weather all three days, kite flying, pantomime putt-putt, magic trick learning, a dead turkey hat, the delightful Muppets movie, a whole lot of Christmas shopping, and a beautiful sunset and bottle of wine at Veramar Vineyard.  All that were missing were Bryce, Carter, Emma Belle and their parents.  (We missed you, Gaskins!)

And now for some Christmas music …
