Yesterday morning Huck woke up at 5:50, went to the bathroom and then ran back into his bedroom (while I secretly watched in horror because every little thing wakes me up) where I imagine he obediently stared at his multi-colored digital alarm clock until it said 6:00.  At that late hour he came into our room and snuggled next to me (Troy being long gone since it was Sunday morning), sweetly telling me he was ready to get up.  I then did the opposite of what Daddy would do and said I really needed much more sleep than that and could he please come wake me up closer to, say, seven.  He negotiated 6:59, I said sure, and he ran back to his room and kept himself busy for the next hour.  At 7:11 he came back and asked me to come see the project he had been working on.  Not at all a morning person but so very thankful for that extra 71 minutes of sleep, I slowly went into his room and there on his wall was this awkward masterpiece, made from recycled scrap paper from my little office at the church where I often can be found making sign-in sheets for various special events.  (What would they do without me?!)  To translate: “If you are a member or a visitor of this house please sign in.  Thanks.”
